H.P. Lovecraft - This Is HP Lovecraft & HP Lovecraft II

H.P. Lovecraft's first two albums (from '67 and '68), released in 1997 by Britonic Records. Formed in Chicago in 1967. Following a split, the band reformed with different members in 1970 under the name "Lovecraft". They named their band after the horror author, Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

What to say about this mysterious-sounding album? A mixture of blues, acid psych rock and general madness with a folky and at times baroque feel. Great lead vocals, vocal harmonies, acid guitar and an interesting mixture of songs and styles. Excellent cover of "Let's Get Together" with real mystical passages. "The White Ship" is one of the most acclaimed tracks.
